At last nights Council meeting Cllr H Delaney ( Conservative ) proposed a motion regarding the importance of maintaining the funding enabling local decision makers to produce their own Neighbourhood Plan. Without this funding the cost becomes prohibitive and weakens local communities voice to shape the Local Plan.
This is a strong motion and received cross party support for the Conservatives, Green Party, LIb-Dems, Solihull Independents, and Independents. A great example of parties working together.
Blythe Ward will be directly effected by the new Local Plan and any layer of protection...
Planning Update – Meeting with Solihull Council
Cllr Richard Holt and I met with Solihull Planning Officers to discuss the new Local Plan and the numerous proposed and speculative developments affecting Dickens Heath and Tidbury Green.
We fully understand the Government’s pressure on the Council to allocate more housing in the new Local Plan. However, any sites included must be sustainable, protect the most valuable Green Belt, and follow good planning principles under the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
Land West of Rumbush Lane
As follow upto video posted on 18th June
We have been advised by Rainier Developments that leaflets will be distributed to properties within Tidbury Green this week.
As you will notice from my video, my concerns are many around sustainability and the fact that Rumbush Lane is a country Lane.
Objecting to Planning/Developments
We thought this may be useful for residents to know more about.
Anyone can object to a planning application, it does help if the objector has connections with the site concerned. We have seen petitions signed by people objecting to applications in the ward who live abroad!
Land West of Rumbush lane – Update
This submission via the call for sites has been previously highlighted on 25th April. Rainier Developments are submitting plans to build upto 110 homes plus an extension to the sports ground
Bus fares have just gone up in a double whammy for commuters
Following a second round of inflation-busting fare rises since he took office the West Midlands Mayor’s pledge for Bus Transformation is not going too well,
This month saw a rise of 30% in the price of the cheapest commute to and from work. This contrasts with the previous mayor, Andy Street, who managed to keep fares low for passengers, year after year, by working with the bus companies and government.
Bus fares rose by 6% just one month after the mayor, Richard Parker, took office, with one bus user claiming this is a ‘Rotten deal for the monthly pass’. Others online described the new...
Hillfield Local Nature Reserve
Good news SMBC have commenced work digging out the Bunds by the car park , the purpose to restrict access by vehicles onto the park land . This gives an extra layer of secruity
Fulford Green – update on our thoughts
Myself and Cllr Ken Hawkins are increasingly concerned with the amount of developers considering or about to submit plans to build on the green belt within the Tidbury Green and Dickens Heath boundaries.
There are huge pressures attached to any submission around Sustainability and loss of Green belt . We are continually monitoring all potential plans and will update accordingly.
