Dog Kennel Lane – Outlined Planning Permission

Just wanted to share my thoughts on the decision to grant planning permission for 1200 homes on Dog Kennel Lane. I made a submission to the planners asking for a deferral of these applications until a New Local Plan has been approved. Blythe Ward is facing many challenges regarding development and we must ensure that any new sites have a strong infrastructure, and will benefit our local communities. We are currently struggling to access local health care and many of our roads remain Country Lanes these are just two of my major concerns. I do post regular updates on social media @cllrkeithgreen...

The move will provide first class rugby facilities and protect the future of Old Yards. The plan is underpinned with the need to provide suitable alternative sites not only for the clubs currently using this site plus two other sites on Tythe Barn Lane . The report’s comment that discussions are underway with a landowner within Blythe Ward to create a specialist football Hub...

Until this strategic direction is known, it is premature to progress major developments. With two large proposals totalling 1,200 houses on protected Green Belt land, I believe these plans should be paused. Moving ahead now risks locking...

Heavy Rain – Call for Developers and Planners

Dog Kennel Lane is subject to two large planning applications and as part of their submissions they have to address flood attenuation measures. I call on all parties to ensure that Pools and Ponds are designed to future proof not only the development but to help prevent excess water from flowing into Dickens Heath and Cheswick Green . My concern is with our climate changing and prolonged and heavier rainfall forecast the capacity must be in place to offer protection
