Tilehouse Lane and surrounding area

August 6, 2025

On a day where we have received notice that, planning Proposals for Arden Green (200 houses) and Land West of Rumbush lane (110 houses) have been submitted to Solihull Council, myself and Cllr Hawkins struggled through the congestion to talk about the lack of road infrastructure, and our worries looking forward.

Alongside another proposed devolpment on Tilehouse Lane of 200 houses. its obvious that the road infrastructure around Dickens Heath, Tidbury Green and Cheswick Green are at full capacity, and for those whom have endured the gridlock in Dickens Heath this week due to one road having a gas main repair, its clear something needs to be done.

We are asking for “No more new sites” to be added to the Local Plan until there is a “Masterplan” that works for our Ward.

We know that the sites which were already on the old withdrawn local plan will need to be scrutinized and shaped, however we do not want any more added !!!

We cannot continue to be the focus of developers plans until there is a clear, workable and achievable “Masterplan” that covers the roads infrastructure and serves our communities. Full details regarding a petition will follow shortly.
