Muse Places Ltd are planning a renewed round of public engagement on the Mell Square redevelopment.

As Cabinet member I asked the councils Stronger Communities and Neighbourhood Services Scrutiny Board to review how the council deals with floods and flooding issues.

Reporting issues online via the council website is not only easier but is really most effective. I encourage fellow councillors to report issues this way rather than telephone/email senior officers directly.

Solihull has added an additional park to its number prestigious Green Flag Awards for its parks, cemeteries and green spaces. Hope Coppice was adjudged to have met the standard this year and we now have 17 Green Flag Parks. 

This is a real bug-bearer because not only can it be unsightly, it impacts on our everyday walks. It does though have far more consequences to people who are less mobile or have sight restrictions.

Keith mentioned the situation regarding Main Street and that some 400+ are leaseholders essentially at risk for its upkeep since the failure of the management company some years ago.

We wish to restart a monthly report, something I did a few years ago, but many issues, especially Covid got in the way. But now the local and general elections are out of the way we can now reignite things.
